Storm flags, hailstones, water masses: a violent storm crashed on Sunday evening parts of LoWower Austria and Burgenland. Especially dramatic: within a few minutes the rain fell like Van Emmers – with a maximum of 90 liters per square meter!
In the Statutar City Wiener Neustadt were constantly in use the fire brigades. Eight propelled with around 100 members moved to more than 195 missions to combat the water masses. Underground garages were full, the basement had to be pumped out. Very difficult to do: the boat house in the Vienna Neustädterkanaal, which was heavily damaged by an uprooted tree. Fortunately, nobody was injured.
Water stepped over the coast
The southern highway (A2) was also not spared: in an area area the road was under water, the result was the result. In Lichtenwörth the water stepped over the bank, the Hoofdstraat turned into a furious stream for a short time.
But the weather was not only raging in the lower Austria: a violent storm wiped the city in the early evening in the Pinkafeld Burgenland. The sirens came scrilling around 7:34 PM. – Since then, the City Fire Brigade has been constantly in use. Rücned trees blocked lanes, fell on high -voltage lines – including in Gerbergasse, band gas or the State Road to Oberschützen. Happiness in accident: no people were injured.
Heavy rain also in Burgenland
The Pinkoeld Fire Brigade was used with 27 members and five vehicles. Together with the Bouwwerf, the Burgenland Network and the Riedlingsdorf Fire Brigade, the work had been worked tirelessly. But also about the Eisenstadt and around the Neusiedlersee, a violent thunderstorm with heavy rainfall pulled through the west. On Monday, the large clearance is finally on the program in the countries.
