Anyone who wants to continue his unemployment report at the AMS after an interruption – for example due to illness, stay abroad, training, maternity leave or imprisonment – will have to report back on the first day after the interruption. This provision applies from 1 July 2025.
So far you had a week before feedback. If the new deadline is missed, the right to unemployment benefit only starts from the actual day of re -registration and not afterwards.
The re-registration can be made by telephone, personally or via the EAMS account. In the case of disease -related interruption, medical confirmation is still required – even in a short period, as the AMS announced on Tuesday.
Mail shipment only in exceptional cases
At the same time, digital communication with the AMS is being expanded. If you choose the EAMS account in the future, you must check this for new messages on at least two working days a week. Deliveries via the account are then legally sent; Mail shipping is only carried out in exceptional cases. Like before – sanctions are in danger of failing.
The changes are based on a novella about the unemployment insurance law, which was decided in June 2024 and entered into force on 1 July 2025.
