The location “Das Fürst” in Leithapraderf (Burgenland) should have become a parish hall. A demand for needs was promised from the state. Now everything is different.
When the Leithapradersdorf entrepreneur Verena and Georg Fürst decided a few months ago to sell their popular wedding and event location “Das Prince” for private reasons for 780,000 euros, Mayor Martin Radatz immediately expressed interest.
With the acquisition of the 250 Quatrate meter restaurant, including 1360 square meters of garden, he wanted to offer the population again. Because there has been no tavern for years. Because Leithaproddersdorf cannot pay for the purchase of beautiful property with his own resources, Radatz was looking for support with Governor Hans Peter Doskozil (Spö) in the form of allocation of needs.
A company pays in kind
In this way he believed that the country would take over “half of the acquisition costs”, that is, 390,000 euros. As soon as it is transferred from the country to the community, this money must continue to flow to the Fürst family. “We wanted the rest in the form of land so that the municipality is not taxed in terms of money,” explains Radatz.
There has been no money yet
But many were not enthusiastic about this “cow trade”, because the Leithapadersdorfer finally set the cash, the real estate prices are constantly rising. In March, a majority of fundamental decisions were made during a meeting of the city council on the purchase of the event location. The ÖVP voted for it, the three municipal councils of Spö welcomed themselves.
And what’s now, four months later? “Unfortunately, there is still nothing in dry towels. I recently asked the governor because of the promised needs of needs, because only when I know when the money flows, I can conclude a purchase contract with the family. It was said from his office that nothing will be decided before the end of the summer,” says Mayor Radatz.
Apart from that, the remaining financing in the village also causes resentment. Because the municipality would also have to take out a loan of around 400,000 euros for the purchase.
Surprising turn
And what does the country say? “The municipality of Leithaprodersdorf has contacted the state of Burgenland for support for a community center. This has agreed to support the community in the form of needs. The responsible office is constantly in contact with the mayor. Only yesterday was he informed of the following steps at the end of the week.”
So far, so good, you would think. Due to the “earlier inconsistencies”, however, the Fürst family has now resigned during sales negotiations with the municipality and leads the restaurant as long as there is no suitable buyer.
