The prices continued to rise in June. Inflation was 3.3 percent – that is the highest value since May 2024. Price drivers were mainly fuel and food.
This was announced on Thursday by the Austria statistics. It confirmed its rapid estimate for the domestic consumer price index (VPI).
Especially food and food have contributed to inflation. Compared to the previous month, inflation rose by 0.5 percent this year in June.
The statistics have revised inflation in May by 2.9 percent.
The price increases in June in electricity and restaurants, the two largest price attacks in the year, were almost consistently high.
