In the dispute over a Twitter takeover, high-tech billionaire Elon Musk has responded with a counterclaim against the short message service. Musk filed lawsuit as “confidential” in Delaware court in which Twitter is suing founder of electric car maker Tesla
The lawsuit can therefore not be viewed, the court announced on Friday. Shortly before that, the judge in charge had set the start of the trial on October 17.
The richest person in the world had the planned takeover of Twitter for a price of $44 billion (about 43 billion euros) burst on July 8 due to alleged “false and misleading” information. In particular, he accuses Twitter of having too little spam or fake accounts on the platform.
Twitter accuses Musk of “hypocrisy” – lawsuit!
Twitter described this justification as “hypocrisy” and wants to take legal action to force Musk to complete the contracted purchase. Five days of negotiation are planned for the process.
Observers consider a judicial defeat of Musk and therefore a forced fulfillment of the acquisition agreement very conceivable. It is also possible that the multi-billionaire Twitter would have to pay a contractual fine of up to a billion dollars.
