The Swiss chocolate manufacturer Lindt & Sprüngli is now definitively leaving the Russian market. According to spring information, Lindt recently employed about 120 people in the country and is likely to lose their jobs as a result. However, they will be supported and act in accordance with local regulations.
CFO Martin Hug had already announced at the end of July that the company had no plans to reopen in Russia. However, he then left open the option to reopen at a later date. Lindt is now definitively leaving the Russian market.
Lindt ceased operations in Russia in March, a few weeks after Russian forces invaded Ukraine. Business in Russia and Ukraine recently accounted for less than one percent of total sales.
