Cartagena hosts the Cabo de Pop festival and a tribute to ABBA

Pardon, Shaman Shaman, Meseta, Marta Movidas, Compro Oro and Acid Freddy fill the area around the Cabo de Palos lighthouse with music today

The groups Perdón, Shaman Shaman, Meseta, Marta Movidas, Compro Oro and Acid Freddy will fill the environment of the esplanade of the lighthouse of Cabo de Palos, in Cartagena, with music this Friday. They do this at the ‘Cabo de Pop’ festival, which according to the Consistory starts around 8 p.m. A multidisciplinary recital combining music, leisure, sport and culture, returning after two years of absence due to the pandemic. Admission is free and open.

The pop of Perdón, the rock of Shaman Shaman, the synth of Meseta, the electro-pop of Marta Movidas, the rhythm of Compro Oro and the electronics of Acid Freddy will brighten up a family day devoted to enjoying the environment. In addition to music, there are also local artisan stands and food trucks to get acquainted with the local gastronomy. At the same time, various sports activities are planned. Among them kayaking, sailing, paddle surfing and skate surfing, which will take place all day long. In addition, you can go diving and snorkeling until October, and visit the lighthouse.

Organized by the youth wing of Cartagena City Council and PlanOut and framed in the Region of Murcia Festivals, the festival continues this Saturday with the bands Fernandeads, Cromo, Goodbye November, Epiricom, Lisasinson and Me & The Reptiles.

In addition, ‘Dancing Queen’, the tribute to ABBA that has visited cities around the world, arrives at 10:30 pm at the Paco Martín Auditorium in Parque Torres to pay tribute to the Swedish group. In 1982 ABBA, the lineup of Benny Andersson, Anni-Frid Lyngstad, Agnetha Fältskog and Björn Ulvaeus announced their separation. Four decades later, the Las Noches de Sal cycle offers this musical and aesthetic show live. The doors open one hour before the start. A journey back in time to experience the thrill of a concert by the Swedish band. Two hours of unforgettable songs.
