Pablo Isla, former executive president of Inditex, has founded an audiovisual production company, Fonte Films, through which he aims to “develop high technical quality projects with a global vocation and invest in new forms of audiovisual expression”, according to a statement that marks the new adventure. in which the well-known professional has started, who, after leaving the company of Amancio Ortega, signed for IE University last March as president of the International Governing Council. Fonte Films is also “an exciting initiative” joining the Spanish audiovisual industry “with the aim of being a breeding ground for new national and international talent, pampering emerging creativity and promoting agreements with other countries,” the note adds. .

Pablo Isla (Madrid, age 58), who will hold the position of producer and president at Fonte Films, is launching this company together with Aragonese producer Carla Pérez de Albéniz, who won the 2020 Goya for Best Production Direction for ‘While the war lasts’, directed by Alejandro Amenábar. Pérez de Albéniz, who will hold the position of executive producer, has been working in the audiovisual sector for 25 years and was responsible for the production division of the Movistar Plus+ Originals region.

Also joining the company is lawyer María Jesús Román, with over 20 years of experience in the audiovisual and entertainment industries. “We are excited to start this new project with Pablo, to have his background and recognized professional experience. Full of enthusiasm in this new challenge,” said the two professionals in this regard.

Named the best executive president in the world by the Harvard Business Review in 2017 and 2018, Isla is a member of cultural institutions such as the Board of Trustees of the Prado Museum, the Royal Theater of Madrid and the La Caixa Foundation, among others. «A cultural background, which, together with his passion for film and television fiction, paid off when he first became acquainted with the audiovisual sector. A business decision, but also an emotional one, that poses the challenge of implementing excellent management in the audiovisual production universe,” the statement added.

“We are very excited about the establishment of Fonte Films. Personally, I intend to contribute my business experience to the audiovisual world and to contribute from my deep passion for cinema to the development of the thriving Spanish audiovisual industry,” says the director.

To lead the creative team, Isla has entrusted screenwriter and showrunner Diego Sotelo, who will join the company as Content Director of Fonte Films and will fill screenwriter and showrunner roles. Sotelo was one of the screenwriters for ‘Fariña’, a series inspired by Nacho Carretero’s book, and ‘On Death Row’.
