Pilar Eyre will judge her work at Mares de Papel

Date:

Writer and journalist Pilar Eyre will conclude the ‘Evenings with’ conversations next Thursday, September 8, which are part of the Mares de Papel festival. The meeting with the public will take place at 9.30 pm in the Mirador de Bahía in Puerto de Mazarrón. The event aims to give a tour of the literary and journalistic work of this author, a great connoisseur of recent Spanish history. Some of the events he has collected in some of his novels, such as those devoted to the monarchy: ‘I, the King’ (2020) and ‘The solitude of a queen: Sofia, a life’ (2012), among other works.

His latest work, When we were yesterday, portrays the events of the end of the Franco period, a history and events that many believe are crucial to understanding current Catalan society.

The Barcelona-born journalist and writer studied philosophy and literature and information sciences. He has contributed to the magazine Interviú and in the newspapers Hoja del Lunes, La Vanguardia, El Periódico de Cataluña and El Mundo and continues to work for magazines such as Lecturas and other publications. His presence in audiovisual media (radio and television) has also been frequent, working as an analyst and commentator of social chronicles. In 2014 he was a finalist for the Planeta Award with ‘My favorite color is to see you’.

‘Evenings with’ has also had the collaboration of the actress and presenter Cayetana Guillén Cuervo, the Murcian actress Pepa Aniorte and the writers who have jointly signed works under the pseudonym Carmen Mola (Jorge Díaz, Agustín Martínez and Antonio Mercero), who are winners of the last Planeta award with the novel ‘The Beast’.

Mares de Papel will conclude this Saturday, September 10, with the Comic Fun Day event. Since the opening, fifty activities have been organized, such as literary meetings, poetry evenings, music, theater and dance concerts.
