Until September 9, the students of the Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático de Murcia present a new edition of Teatro y Palomitas with daily performances at 20:00. Throughout the week, you can see the works of the Dramatic Art students again in an open-air space, the school patio. The benefit of admission to the performances, of 6 euros including popcorn and drink, goes to the Centauro Quirón Foundation, an entity created to help patients with functional diversity and the sponsorship of horses.
Next Tuesday, ‘My sister just has a son’ by former student Maria Rodriguez will be performed. Maria, author and character, turns her pain into a plot. Do I want my sister to have a child or not? What does it mean to be a mother? What strange power does fiction have that, though distorting memory, keeps it alive? he wonders in this monologue.
On Wednesday 7 June ‘Suspiros en el aire’, an adaptation of ‘La hija del aire’, by Calderón de la Barca’, will be screened by the students of the 2nd year Directing Classical Theater workshop. ‘Goodbye Stranger’ is the show on Thursday 8, performed by the students of the 3rd Workshop Directing Contemporary Theater.
Finally, on Friday the 9th, the students of the 3rd year Interpretation Workshop will perform ‘Perfect Strangers’, a theatrical version of the story that Paolo Genovese brought to Italian cinemas and which Álex de la Iglesia later brought to Spain.
