The 22nd edition of the Yecla Jazz Festival already has dates and a poster. The event will take place from September 20 to 24 at the Concha Segura Theater, always at 9:30 pm, with performances by Alfredo Rodríguez, Shirley Davis, Raynald Colom, Vargas and Zenet. The festival kicks off on the 20th with an internationally renowned artist, much appreciated in the US, Cuban Alfredo Rodríguez. The composer and pianist is produced by Quincy Jones, producer of Michael Jackson, Frank Sinatra or Steven Spielberg. His mentor has been in charge of the Cuban’s five albums on the market.
On Wednesday the 21st, the star of the evening is soul diva Shirley Davis with The Backsilvers. With two albums already recorded, the British have a voice that is revolutionizing the music scene. Installed in Madrid, a few months ago she released her third album, ‘Keep on keepin’ on’, with a clear concept that invites us to always move forward and overcome adversity.
On Thursday the 22nd Raynald Colom will be on stage as a quartet. The Frenchman, based in Barcelona, will show his virtuosity with the trumpet. The artist, who started playing the instrument at the age of 8, has collaborated with big names in jazz, pop and flamenco such as Greg Osby, Nicholas Payton, Mulgrew Miller, Al Foster, El Piraña, Chano Domínguez and Jesse Davis. . Carles Benavent, Perico Sambeat or Juan de Juan have counted on him for their projects. Raynald Colom also participated in Manu Chao’s ‘Clandestino’ tour.
