Conference. The psychologist and education expert and author of numerous ‘best sellers’ will give a lecture next Friday as part of the activities of the Murcian Institute’s innovative Reading Plan
Catherine L’Ecuyer, the author of several educational outreach ‘best sellers’ such as ‘Educating in wonder’ -with thirty-two editions, published in eight languages in 60 countries-, ‘Educating in reality’ -with twelve editions, on the use of new technologies in childhood or the most recent – and ‘Conversations with my teacher’, where he follows the various trends in current education, will offer a conference this Friday, October 7 at 12:25 pm for the students and families of the IES Mariano Baquero Goyanes (Murcia), organized by the center’s innovative reading plan (on Instagram @planlectormb), coordinated for five courses by teacher Isabel Martínez Llorente (@halosdeazul).
The project to improve language skills and encourage reading is a collegiate project of the Ministry of Education as an educational innovation project and has since produced surprising results: students have improved their reading skills by 56.66% and during the past academic year the loan of books has increased. from the school library increased by 144%, from 437 loans to 1,066. Several authors and personalities have gone through this cycle, such as Joan Manuel Gisbert, Juan Ramón Barat, Nando López, María Teresa Caro Valverde, Luis Leante or former minister Ángeles González Sinde. In its original approach, it combines environmental education with the reading of classics, having managed to organize three editions of the Green Week with experts such as Julio Mas (IEO), Diego Amores (Agro-industrial environment), Patrice D’Arras (Nafaso ), including Jesús Pagán (Foodtopía) or Isabel Sánchez (Disfrimur).
Education expert Catherine L’Ecuyer will put the finishing touches on the #Apadrinaunclásico project, in which, on the occasion of the celebration of Book Day, this Reading Plan of the IES Mariano Baquero brought a wide variety of literary characters to life and its authors were sponsored in an attempt to revive the classics with the active participation of the entire school community. The title of the conference that Catherine L’Ecuyer will give is ‘The Importance of Reading Classical Works’.
She is a Doctor of Education and Psychology, a speaker to the Education Committee of the Congress of Delegates of Spain at the Second European Education Summit (European Commission) and a member of a working group for the Government of Spain on the use of technologies among minors.
