The children came to the promenade of Alfonso X El Sabio this Saturday to meet their favorite authors and enjoy a double storytelling session

Molinense Daniela Serrano is 9 years old and is the youngest writer at the Murcia Book Fair. This Saturday the author opened a day on which children’s and youth literature felt the support of its discerning target audience. The writer presented himself in the main pavilion of the fair ‘Mar. 1. The Ghost Cemetery’ (Blue Book Editions), the first of a collection of eight books written in just one year. Later I will sign copies of the publication at the Dokusou-Raspabook-Blue Book booth. Contact with many children and adults is “very cool”. A book fair seen from a different perspective.

“I don’t remember when I started reading, but I know my parents encouraged me because I was lazy at first,” admits the author, thanking her parents for their insistence. «I started writing at the end of August last year and I am already on my eighth book. I made a portrait of my sister and from that drawing I came to the story of this book. I thought that if I wrote my stories and read them to me, my parents wouldn’t have to buy me so many books, because I read a lot! », the writer and illustrator explains, since all the drawings that go with the story came from her hand. “I like that the book has pictures, because it helps to understand the text. If there is a child who finds it difficult to imagine the scenes, seeing the drawing makes it easier to visualize them,” says the author of a spoiled work.

In the book, Daniela tells the story “of a girl named Clara who is very afraid of the sea, but her parents enroll her in a diving course and eventually she overcomes her fear and is encouraged to dive a little every day. That’s how he discovers things that… can no longer be told,” explains Daniela, who is currently silent to avoid “spoilers”. The sea is the setting for this story and the writer, who lives in Molina de Segura, maintains a good relationship with water. “In the summer I go to the beach a lot and stay for a few weeks,” he tells LA TRUTH without taking his eyes off the readers and friends who approach. “They are two classmates who read the book and loved it. Nadia says she now enjoys reading more thanks to my book,” she boasts.

The Murcia Book Fair this Saturday paid tribute to Asensio Piqueras, former director of the event, who passed away last spring, with a poetry recital. An emotional act in the Archaeological Museum coordinated by the journalist Juan Tomás Frutos with music by Flores Yepes, Aída Escudero, the trovo by Emilio del Carmelo and fados by Victoria Cava. Carmen Pérez Ballesteros and José Saura, among others, gave away their poetry.

“She does everything,” says editor Asunción Martín. «Daniela writes her books by hand and writes very well. It tells a story that children can follow perfectly.”

One of the most popular on the morning of the fair was Martina D’Antiochia. The actress, ‘youtuber’ and writer is the author of the youth collection ‘Martina’s fun’ and this Saturday she signed copies of her new book ‘Capria’. Awaken your magic’ that begins a new series of adventures and mystery. The readers -mainly readers- accompanied by their parents lined up to meet this celebrity on paper and on the internet.

Readers such as Mara, Isa, Eva and Alba, between 9 and 13 years old and from Lorca, who slept together and got up at 7 in the morning to live that exciting moment. On the other hand, the younger children enjoyed this Saturday with a double storytelling session by Mario Moya.

On this third day of the fair, a large number of authors were present, including a representation of writers from Calasparra, a host municipality at the Murcia Book Fair, passing the LA VERDAD booth, a space that also includes Mónica Rouanet, Guillermo Borao , Nando Abad , Emilio del Rio and Maria Martinez. The latter, author of Lorca, brought together hundreds of readers who wanted to meet the director of the paranormal trilogy ‘Dark Souls’ and the ‘new adult’ series ‘Crossing the limits’.
