Two members of the ‘Just Stop Oil’ group have protested for the UK government to stop all new oil and gas projects
Two environmental protesters threw a pot of tomato soup on Vincent van Gogh’s painting ‘Sunflowers’ on Friday at the National Gallery in London. It is one of five versions of the Dutch author’s work to be exhibited in museums and galleries around the world, according to videos published on social networks.
The ‘Just Stop Oil’ group said in a statement that two of its activists threw down two Heinz-branded soup cans this morning to demand that the British government halt all new oil and gas projects.
Police officers have arrested the two members of the environmental group for “criminal damage and aggravated trespass”, who stuck to a wall after an attack on Van Gogh’s work.
