Rosalía has won the Los40 Music Awards 2022 by taking home up to three awards at the gala held on Friday, November 4 at the WiZink Center in Madrid, with other artists such as Dani Fernández, Anitta, Ava Max and David Guetta in attendance.

The Catalan, who started out as the favorite with seven nominations, has won the Golden Music Global awards for Best Album and Best Concert for ‘Motomami’, all in the Spain category.

The performer of ‘Despecha’ has thanked such acknowledgments and emphasized that she always wanted to be an artist, although that path, she has admitted, has “telita”.

On the carpet before the gala, big names of the evening have applauded the work of the Catalan. For the Brazilian Anitta, Rosalía should win all the awards for the “innovation” she has made in the industry, while Dani has called Martín to appreciate the artist: “It is a banner for everyone and I am very proud to have such” an animal in Spain.

Rosalía also featured in one of the most anticipated moments of the night with her performance, which took place at the start of the gala. To the beat of ‘La Fama’ and dressed in a transparent black dress and with short wet-look hair, she has hypnotized a euphoric audience.

Dani Fernández, Anitta and Ava Max are the other big winners of the ceremony presented by Tony Aguilar, Dani Moreno and Cristina Boscá, as they have won the awards for Best Spanish Artist, Best Latin Global Artist and Best International Artist respectively.

The most excited of them was Fernández, who came on the stage trembling. «Ever since I was a child, I dream of singing and especially devoting myself to what I like the most. I never thought that after so many laps I would win this prize,” he thanked.

In addition to these awards, it was possible in the evening to enjoy some twenty performances, including Ava Max, who made the WiZink dance to the rhythm of ‘Maybe you are the problem’ under a shower of red confetti. The American has also won the award for Best International Video Clip.

Another of the most acclaimed was David Guetta, who captivated the audience with ‘I’m good’ and ‘Crazy what love can do’, an original song featuring Becky Hill – who accompanied the Frenchman – and Elle Henderson. This theme has won the award for Best International Collaboration. The DJ and producer has also been recognized as Best International Dance Artist. “Spain is almost my other country because of the love I have for Ibiza,” he said in his acceptance speech.

The best for her staging was the Spanish Ana Mena, who brought a veritable show full of dance on the three stages with ‘Las 12’ and ‘I want to tell you’, the latter with Abraham Mateo. The artist has been recognized for ‘Light Music’, Best Spanish Song.

On the other hand, Lola Índigo, who turned the stage into a ‘Discoteka’ with María Becerra, was surprised tonight by winning the prize for Best Live Artist in the Spain category. Very excited, she has said that she does not consider herself “the best”: “It gives me great courage that it is called better, I don’t know what or better, I don’t know how much. I don’t consider myself the best at anything. It’s deadly to work and I love my job,” he said.

Argentines also celebrated at this gala, which awarded María Becerra the award for Best Latin Global Live Artist and Tiago PZK, Best Latin New Artist.

Winners also included Harry Styles, Dua Lipa, Sebastián Yatra, Leo Rizzi, Maikel Delacalle, Shakira, Bizarrap, Manuel Turizo, Imagine Dragons or Camilo.

In the Award for Best Artist or Group of Del 40 already 1, in the Spain category, Chanel, the only one decided by popular vote and not by a jury, has won the prize given by a fan. It is the first prize of the Spanish-Cuban, who has shed tears: «This is a team effort. Thank you so much to everyone who has supported me from the beginning.

The most striking moments of the evening have been performed by the Brazilian Anitta and the British Yungblud, in their various shows.

The first made WiZink “perrear” to the rhythm of “Envolver”, which surprised the President of the Community of Madrid, Isabel Díaz Ayuso, who approached her to make the viral step of the song, a wiggle of the hips propped up on her knees.

For his part, Yungblud, recognized as Best International Newcomer, performed ‘Issues’ that caused one of the most bizarre moments of the night by jumping on the table where, among other celebrities, were Belén Esteban or Manuel Carrasco. After that, he threw on the drums of his band, among other things.

Los40 also presented the Golden Music Awards at this ceremony, recognizing great artists and cultural personalities for their careers. In this case, the lucky ones were Manuel Carrasco, Leiva and Juanes, who gave the audience performances of some of their hits.

In Juanes’ case, he was joined by Morat, adding a Colombian touch to the gala hosted by the former Palacio de los Deportes.

On the other hand, Pedro Almodóvar has also won a Golden Music Award for “changing the history of Spanish culture”. The filmmaker, who was received on stage to the applause of all the artists, has claimed the cinemas against the platforms while standing. «I recommend that you relive the experience of seeing movies in a cinema, on a big screen. Cinema is hypnotic and for that it has to be tiny in a dark place and surrounded by unknown people,” the filmmaker emphasized in his speech.
