The Murcia International Film Festival is changing dates. The IBAFF will not be held in March as usual, but will be
next edition in Junea month in which Murcia will once again be the protagonist, active agent and stage for the different dimensions of audiovisual language.

from 18 to 26 June the festival Inspired by the figure of Ibn Arabi, it returns to the Regional Film Library to offer its programming to the Murcian audience. An offering consisting of films that, due to their hybrid nature in genre, have difficulty accessing conventional commercial circuits and offer the viewer an experience that goes beyond entertainment. In addition, the IBAFF, a benchmark for artistic creation and freedom, this year also features the facilities of the
artillery barracks as a parallel location.

Benefit from the change of data, from the organization of the
Murcia International Film Festival we work with the illusion of performing a face-to-face edition under the security protocols in the projections and events. Work is also underway on various formulas that guarantee accessible online programming if the health situation requires it.

In addition to viewing the films from the official competition categories, the various film cycles and collaborations with other festivals,
IBAFF XII offers free workshops and training activities. It will also remain a meeting place for the public and professionals and will offer lectures and seminars where the sector and contemporary audiovisual discourses will be analyzed.

Through its various sections -with the support of the Murcia City Council of the Ministry of Culture-, the IBAFF
tries to portray the contradictions and paradoxes of contemporary film practicean annual event that is a forum for debate to feed the cinema with the energy of its avant-garde.

The call for films for the twelfth edition will be published soon and will be reported soon
through the festival’s social networks. Currently, the pre-registration of works has already been made possible via an online form on the official website www.ibaff.com

Almost received the latest edition
400 movies, 66% short films and 34% feature films, from 41 different countries. The
Official Feature Section offered 18 titlesdocumentaries and fiction, which break academic gender codes and articulate a myriad of topics with milestones such as Rity Pahn’s showing of Irradiés – which
had its second world display in Murcia after the premiere at the Berlinale. For the selected short films, two joint programs were set up with
a total of 14 movies offering several national and European premieres between the selected films.
