I’ve been trying to find a defect for weeks. and there is no way
When I found out that Isabelle Junot, daughter of Carolina de Mónaco’s first husband and Marta Chávarri’s daughter-in-law, would be participating in the seventh edition of ‘MasterChef Celebrity’, I imagined a textbook rooster, one of those who talk like an egg in the mouth. A kind of French Tamara Falcó. Maja, yes, nice too, but a creature from another planet. And, I don’t know, maybe Isabelle Junot comes from a different planet than most mortals (she comes from a wealthy family, Marquis consort, born in New York, educated in Paris…) but for me she is one of the simplest, most natural, exquisite, expressive and charming participants who stepped on the famous culinary “talent”. I’ve been trying to find a defect for weeks. And there is no way. Although, well, there are still a few shows left and you can still screw it up.
I also had Daniela Santiago on a pedestal until the dark side of the force grabbed her and she became snag and vengeful. Fortunately, her sparkling humor redeems her. Like when former contestant Ofelia awarded her a record for her “naturalness” and Daniela, very authentic and very trans, replied: “Honey, make no mistake, there is nothing natural about me. I designed all this to my liking.
Another in a state of grace (and eternally effervescent) is Lorena Castell, able to put on a show from a simple skimmer… But none is as successful, always as sharp as the young Isabelle, who is never too smart or stupid, bland or salty. If she were a dish, I imagine the irreconcilable trio of judges would have no choice but to applaud him for his modernity without fanfare, his discreet elegance and his proper spice. Of course, the recipe should be asked to Philippe Junot.
