On the occasion of the performance, on Friday –8 p.m. – at the Teatro Romea of her play ‘La infamia’, starring Marta Nieto, the Mexican journalist and writer Lydia Cacho will give a conference this Thursday at 7 p.m., in the Hall of Columns of the Almudi Palace.
As a feminist and ardent champion of human and women’s rights, she will present her professional vision in a lecture entitled ‘The adventure of living without fear’. Admission is free up to full capacity.
In ‘La infamia’, an adaptation of her book ‘Memories of an infamy’, she portrays the kidnapping and torture she underwent in 2005. «It is a privilege to have Lydia Cacho in Murcia and to learn more about her work and her personal experiences as a journalist in Mexico. He has shown extraordinary courage and integrity,” said Culture Councilor Pedro García Rex.
