A drama with comedic overtones with a great cast led by Song Kang-ho, the critically acclaimed protagonist of ‘Parasites’
The 51st edition of the Cartagena International Film Festival opens the curtain this Sunday in Room B of the Batel with the film ‘Broker’ by the Japanese filmmaker Hirozaku Kore-eda: a comic-tinged drama with a star cast led by Song Kang-ho, the critically acclaimed lead actor of ‘Parasites’, who won the Best Actor award at the last edition of the Cannes Film Festival. The film revolves around the family and tells the story of a young woman who leaves her baby at the gate of a church on a rainy night. The director, Hirokazu Koreeda, directed his first film in 1991. He produced films for Miwa directors Nishikawa and Yusuke Iseya. With his film ‘Our little sister’ he won the audience prize at the San Sebastián film festival in 2015. Gonzalo Ballester will present his short film ‘Karim’ tomorrow at the Luzzy (6 pm).
