Rocío Batanero and Brando Niebla exhibit their most extraordinary works in the third cycle of experimentation
The inauguration of the third exhibition cycle of the Mu-tantes Artistic Experimentation Festival brought together its fans this Friday at the Cárcel Vieja Center for Contemporary Culture in Murcia, which will showcase the work of Rocío Batanero and Brando Niebla, and a selection of projects by various creatives who are part of this artist collective.
Batanero presents ‘Adverse Effects’, a personal and purely experimental project about the use of drugs and their reaction in the body. This graphic designer and art director has explored new materials such as printing on fabric or 3D printing in this process and is without a doubt one of the artistic revelations of this edition.
Brando Niebla, multidisciplinary art director and graphic designer, shares a 3D project with multiple audiovisual applications and several 3D prints. A process in which mistakes and constant experimentation complement each other to generate a universe called ‘Nacra’ through technologies and new graphical codes.
The Mu-aunts team also exhibits their most personal works. Visitors can enjoy the works of art director and visual artist David Disparos; the art director at Fellas Roberto Navarro (“Sanfadao” project); the cultural manager at Espacio Incógnita and designer Diego Lobenal (‘Localization’ project); art director Lola Baños (‘Back to the origins’ project); sound artist and producer Dereck V. Bulcke (“Mirror” Project): Maba art director Cristóbal Sánchez (“My Archive Vol.2” Project); the graphic designer at Maba José Lorente (‘Exclusive Toys’ project); the promoter of Casa Chiribiri, Matilde Tomás (Project ‘Pera 1/10, Pera 02/10, Pera 03/10’) and the motion designer Adrián Marzal (Project: ‘SSSKN3ØØØ’)
In addition, the Mu-tantes organization has made a selection of the works of the artists presented in the previous two exhibition cycles, which can be visited on the ground floor of the Cárcel Vieja.
Mu-aunts, led by graphic designer Cristóbal Sánchez, returned in 2022 with a new approach with which “they wanted to delve into that inexplicable impulse that leads us to create change, which transforms a single-celled organism into a human being and a small thought into a revolution that is impossible to stop,” informs the Area of Plastic Arts of the Murcia City Council.
