renovate. As a novelty, Neocine offers six screenings of the film ‘Avatar 2’ on Perlux screens, 14×6 meters, with a high-quality 3D Volfoni system
For the first time in cinemas in the Murcia region, there are motorized seats to raise your feet and recline the backrest, offering the utmost comfort to enjoy three hours of the new premiere of the week, ‘Avatar 2’, in rooms 1 and 2 of the cinemas of the Myrtea shopping center (Av. Severo Ochoa, Murcia).
The renovation of two rooms of the Neocine chain has enabled a series of improvements to provide the most enjoyable experience for the viewer. For example, there is a USB port between the buttons of the motorization to charge the mobile or other device while you comfortably enjoy a movie.
Movie buffs will find new and huge Perlux screens, 14 meters wide and 6 meters high, absorbing the audience’s attention and immersing them in the movie with the new Volfoni 3D system that complements the Dolby 3D system, which some rooms at the Myrtea already had. New state of the art Nec laser source projectors have also been installed and LED lighting has been fitted to side walls and stairs.
“The difficulties were mainly due to deadlines,” says the head of the company Fátima Alemán Reformas y Construcciones, which made possible this project by architect Pedro Abellán Guillén, with the collaboration of Jose Ángel Gonzalez, the manufacturer of the chairs.
In five weeks, the entire existing structure was dismantled, the 265 chairs that each of the two rooms had were removed, and the floor was raised 50 centimeters to accommodate the new chairs.
“Although we work on a national level, everything is a regional production, we come from Murcia”, Fátima Alemán and Jose Ángel Gonzalez confirm at the same time and with a smile. The new seats manufactured in Yecla have arrived at Myrtea ready for assembly. 140 were installed in each of the two rooms, increasing the space between the rows from 1.2 meters to 1.9 meters due to the large width required when unfolding the footrest and laying down the backrest.
“We already have in Murcia the same seats that we have made for cinemas in Madrid, Seville, Barcelona, Gijón and other communities,” sums up Jose Ángel Gonzalez, the manufacturer of the seats.
The ‘Premium’ rooms 1 and 2 of the Myrtea shopping center have been reformed in an “express” way, according to the person in charge of the digital space and projections of Neocine in Murcia, José Antonio López Cárceles, in order to host the premiere of ‘ Avatar 2’, it hits theaters this Friday. At 11:00 AM the first screening is in 2D and there will be 12 screenings of this version. At 11.30 am the ‘Premium’ rooms will be inaugurated with the first 3D projection; During the day there will be six shows in 3D with the new high definition HFR (High Frame Rate) format, at 48 frames per second which will give a greater thrill to the 3D effects, which were previously 24 frames per second. “A much more realistic format, you feel that in the film,” says Cárceles. At 7 pm there is a projection of the original version, in 2D. All weekend there are passes in the morning and afternoon, but from Monday only in the afternoon.
“It has taken a year, it is not easy to lure the audience to the cinemas.” “There is a lot of competition from digital platforms,” notes López Cárceles of how 2022 has been in cinema. Although he points out that Christmas is a high season and he hopes that 2023 will be better thanks to the new comforts and experiences offered by the renovated rooms and the range of films that will be announced.
The next films to be seen in 3D in these cinemas are: Super Mario Bros, Transformers 7 and Elemental from Disney.
