The fifth edition of the International Congress of Arts and Diversity, promoted since its creation by the Cepaim Foundation and the leadership of the multicultural manager Juan Nicolás, has already opened the registration period for the cycle of conferences, workshops and conferences that will take place this year between January and February 2023 under the motto ‘Love, emotions, care, affection and relationships’. The writer, university professor and CSIC researcher Remedios Zafra will hold the opening conference ‘Frágiles’ on January 24 at 7:30 pm in the podium space of the Cultural Center Puertas de Castilla. Zafra is the author of ‘El loop invisible’, winner of the Jovellanos International Essay Award, a work that forms part of her critical studies on digital culture. “The permanent connection leads to a morass of fear that hurts and makes us sick,” Zafra told the ABC newspaper a few days ago.

The Cepaim Foundation, with the support of the regional government and the Ministry of Culture, will offer three sections in this edition: Art and intellectual diversity, coordinated by Javier Martínez Lorca; Critical Thinking and Live Arts, coordinated by Miguel Mesa del Castillo, and Reading and Coexistence, coordinated by Joaquín Medina Ruiz.

The Barcelona writer and essayist Eloy Fernández Porta (January 27, 7 p.m.), author of ‘Los brotos negros’, his twelfth book, which is not exactly an essay, “but rather ‘symptom literature’, will participate in this edition. , autobiographical notebook of a body whose biorhythms, altered to the point of collapse, somatize the sublime speed of production and capital,” and the writer and political scientist Cristina Morales, winner of the 2019 National Prize for Literature in the Narrative category for “Easy Reading” (story of four women with different levels of intellectual capacity who share a protected apartment in Barcelona), who will participate in a lecture at the Puertas de Castilla on January 27 at 7:40 p.m., and will give a workshop on Saturday, January 28 movement about ‘ Violent Body – Careful Body’.

The congress will take place on 20 and 27 February at the Museum of Fine Arts with sessions on literature and living together. On February 27, Mario Obrero, poet and communicator, winner of the Loewe Prize for Young Poetry 2021, author of the book ‘Cherries on Death’, will talk with writer and screenwriter Bob Pop on February 27. Another roundtable was Manuel Moyano (writer, author of the book ‘La frontera interior’, winner of the RBA Travel Narrative Award), Bartolomé Sánchez Estrella, musician and philologist, head of the youth reading group ‘Lectura y convivencia’, and Cristina Guirao ( professor at the University of Murcia, author of ‘Crónica a contrapelo’ and director of the Debate Club of the UMU).

The director of the congress, Juan Nicolás, points out that this edition aims “to find those spaces for encounter and non-confrontation, to analyze the difficulties we face when it comes to affective and sexual relationships in a time when coexistence is being subrogated into the void of the antiquated, old-fashioned and hackneyed; and the need to freely feel, love and express ourselves has been relegated to the protection of an armor that does not allow us to be vulnerable to love and affection, the pain of caring for those who need it or the vulnerability of getting emotional».

The Congress has the support of the Region of Murcia from the Ministry of Social Policy, the Murcian Institute of Social Action and the Institute of Cultural Industry of the CARM, as well as the Ministry of Culture through the General Directorate of Books and Development. letters.
