It is celebrated on February 23 in Caravaca
The Cajamurcia Foundation is sponsoring Handel’s symphonic concert in honor of Santa Teresa de Jesús and San Juan de la Cruz, which will take place on February 23 at 8 p.m. Organized by the San Juan De la Cruz and Santa Teresa de Jesús Cultural Association in Caravaca (mystics), the concert aims to pay tribute to the mystical saints of Discalced Carmel who had an interesting connection with Caravaca during their lifetime.
It is a repertoire that will be heard for the first time in Spain and will be heard in Caravaca De la Cruz. The Symphony Orchestra of the Region of Murcia will perform at the concert, which will be accompanied by two music choirs: Demusica Ensemble, directed by María Ángeles Zapata, and Coro la Victoria Musicae, directed by Josep Ramón Gil-Tárrega. Father Pascual Gil, president of the Mystic Association in Caravaca, shows great enthusiasm for this premiere, which he considers “a dream come true”.
