Two people allegedly spying for Russia were reportedly arrested in Slovenia in December. The two allegedly ran a company in Ljubljana that officially dealt in real estate and antiques. The duo is currently in custody.
The Slovenian public prosecutor’s office on Monday confirmed similar reports in the daily newspaper “Delo” and the online portal “Siol”. The two would not have pretended to be Russian citizens in Slovenia, but had passports from a third country. According to media reports, one person posed as an Argentine.
Arrested in early December
The arrest took place in early December in cooperation between the Slovenian intelligence service and the national investigation agency. Foreign secret services are said to have been involved in tracking down the case.
