“Krone” interview – Khrushcheva: “The White House wanted this war!”

Date:

Putin critic Nina Khrushcheva, who teaches in the US, on Russia, Ukraine and the Americans.

“crown”: Mrs. Khrushcheva, the last time the world was on the brink of nuclear war, your great-grandfather was the leader of the Soviet Union. What would he do today?
Nina Khrushcheva: He wanted to teach the US a lesson at the time, but would never have gone so far as to use nuclear weapons. There was a limit for him. I don’t see that with Putin. It is true that its doctrine dictates that nuclear weapons would only be used if Russia posed an existential threat and that they would never be the first to use them. But in every speech he talks about the existential threat to Russia.
