Chanel breaks the record after getting 8 votes out of 12 points

Date:

The brand was owned by Betty Missiego, who received four out of twelve votes in 1979

Chanel took third place in the Eurovision Song Contest and as such, after reaching a position Spain hadn’t achieved in 27 years, she is both excited and happy for the work done. But the record doesn’t stop there. And it is that in this edition of the festival it has surpassed the record of scores worth 12 by Betty Missiego, who in 1979 received four out of twelve votes, while Chanel took eight out of twelve points.

The first words the Spanish representative had after winning the bronze medal were therefore dedicated to thanking the support of the euro fans and the expert juries from each country who gave her the third place. And it is that after breaking a streak of 17 years without Spain in the top 5, Chanel, like her team, is “very proud” after the classification.

And it’s not for less. Chanel received 459 points, 228 from the televote and 231 points from the jury, beating the national record to date: the 125 points for Mocedades with Eres tú in 1973.

“What we have done comes from our hearts and our hours of work,” declared an emotional Chanel who wanted to shout to the heavens for the work of her dancers. “We represent the whole world of dance and musicals,” he assured in an interview after the gala. At the time, he confessed that the first people he thought of when he came off the stage were his grandparents.

And although at the time of the interview the Spanish singer had not yet seen the performance she had given in the Palau de Turin, she did confess that the group feeling and emotion had been to be “super proud” and to have worked very hard , something they had “demonstrated on stage.”
