Union artist Esteban Bernal is the creator of the new Mining Lamp Trophy for the 61st International Festival of Cante de las Minas. This is the fifth transformation of the price since its origin. The artist has worked with stainless steel to “create a modern and elegant trophy without losing its primitive features as an expression of a festival true to its roots, but equally vibrant and current”. The design consists of three flat-cut pieces, curved to provide dynamism and three-dimensionality, making this material a nod to the brilliance of silver obtained in mining. Added to this trophy is a new Cante Cathedral, with a much more vertical design.
