The Tiempo de Danza competition and the IX ‘Gala de Bailarines Murcianos’ will be held on Monday 27 and Tuesday 28 June at the Regional Auditorium
The XIIIth edition of the Tiempo de Danza competition and the IX ‘Gala de Bailarines Murcianos’ will take place on Monday 27 and Tuesday 28 June respectively at 8 pm in the auditorium of Víctor Villegas. Two events organized by the Association of Friends of Dance of Murcia in collaboration with the Institute of Cultural Industries and the Arts (ICA).
In Dance Time, 40 young student dancers from the Murcia region, aged between 12 and 20, show their artistic skills in variations and in small pieces. The youngsters will compete in the modalities of classical, contemporary, Spanish and flamenco dance in categories classified by age.
Those selected by the jury can expand their education with scholarships, which help them complete their preparation for the professional world.
The IX ‘Gala de Bailarines Murcianos’ brings together 13 dancers, who together with their ‘partners’ offer a show consisting of classical, neoclassical, contemporary and Spanish dance pieces. Under the artistic direction of Carlos Grávalos, the gala consists of 19 pieces divided between two acts, and the winners of the XIII Tiempo de Danza Prize, held the day before, will participate.
Professional dancers Irene López Ros, Ángela Alcántara Miranda, Diego Hoyos del Rey, Julia Cano Ordás, Elena Gil Fernández, Mario García Pérez and Adriana Sánchez Guillén will participate. Also participating in the gala are young promises and first prize winners Andrea Pilar Martínez Sánchez (Senior Classical Dance), Elena Martínez Santamaria (Junior B Classical Dance), Ana María Espadas Sánchez (First Prize Senior Contemporary Dance 2019 | Dart Studios Berlin). , Lucia Lopez Esteban (Flamenco Junior B), Victor Lopez Mayol (Flamenco Senior).
The Sevillian Marta Vilalta Rivas and the Italians Francesco Forcina and Vittorio Petrillo will perform as guest dancers. Admission to the gala, on Tuesday 28 at 20:00, costs 15 euros and an invitation to attend the XIII Dance Time Award will be delivered with purchase.
