Trophies for the best Murcian talent on the internet

A website is the gateway to a business. Visited by hundreds of internet users every day, they pass on quality content and showcase their services through this information, which helps to promote their brand, generate ‘engagement’, attract new customers and develop their business without any barriers of space or time . For example, careful design, good usability and a flexible and intuitive environment are some of the features that stand out on a page and that will be taken into account when selecting the winners of the XIV edition of the Web Awards, a competition with the sponsorship of the Autonomous Community, the Municipal Council of Murcia, CaixaBank and Gesa Mediación, and the collaboration of Enae, Biku, Carrillo Asesores and Timur.

These awards have already become an indisputable event for companies, institutions, associations and individuals in the Region, who see in them a way to appreciate the effort they make to make themselves known through their web pages. For example, this year 256 applications were submitted in the six existing categories: Companies; ecommerce; Leisure/Service; personal/blog; Associative and Startups.

The jury that selects the four finalists in each category is made up of: the Dean of the Official Association of Telecommunications Engineers of the Region of Murcia, Juan Luis Pedreño; the Dean of the Professional College of Computer Engineers of the Region of Murcia, Jesús Martínez Martínez; UPCT Vice-Rector for Digital Transformation, Manuel Munuera Giner; the territorial director of CaixaBank in Murcia, Olga García; the President of the Murcian Association of Information Technology, Communications and Audiovisual Companies (TIMUR), Juan Celdrán Alenda; the Information Systems Coordinator of the Faculty of Communication and Documentation of the University of Murcia, Juan Antonio Pastor Sánchez; the co-founder of IT&IS and president of AlicanTec, Andrés Pedreño, the Business Director of LA VERDAD, Carlos López Portland, and the Director of Digital Development and Audiences of LA VERDAD, Juan Diego Sastre Sánchez.

When choosing the finalists, these professionals consider, among other things, the quality and quantity of content, regular updates, graphic design, usability, accessibility, community building, participation and interaction with users. , the creativity and originality of the content and of the web and innovation. Participation in these prizes is completely free and all registered portals have their own descriptive file on the competition website. In addition, the visibility of the participants increases thanks to the extensive information and audiovisual coverage that LA VERDAD provides of the competition in its paper and digital versions, both to present the semi-finalists and finalists and of the award ceremony itself.

The four finalists in each category, to be announced shortly, will participate in the Web Awards gala, which will take place on July 7 in the Magna Garden banquet hall and will be presented by the magician Miguel de Lucas.

The gala includes an open-air dinner in which only the finalists of each category, authorities and sponsors will participate. As the evening progresses, the names of the six winners will be announced, following a video highlighting each of the 24 candidates so attendees can see who they are, what they do and what their website looks like. Whoever sees his name chosen as the winner has to take the stage to receive the well-known prize in the form of a hand, which is accompanied by an extensive advertising campaign in this newspaper worth 2,000 euros.
