The Murcian right-hander’s adventure was successful after he shrugged in the two afternoons he fought in Caracora

The Peruvian adventure of the Murcian right-hander Rafael Rubio, Rafaelillo, was successful. The adventurous qualification is accompanied by knowledge of the cause, especially because of the news that comes from the Andean pías, because of the peculiarity of one of the most popular fairs in Peru and its square, because of the mountain roads that have to be traveled to reach for her and for the passion with which bullfighting is experienced in that part of the planet.

Rafaelillo fought two afternoons, Saturday and Sunday, in the arena of Caracora, a unique setting where more than twenty thousand spectators gathered every day. Officially there is an entrance fee of 22,000 people, but it is estimated that some twenty-five thousand have seen the celebration, between the stands and the mountain that closes the peculiar square, creating a unique atmosphere, surprising even for an experienced bullfighter like Rafaelillo , who celebrated his silver jubilee as a bullfighter last year.

It is complicated to have all the data on the herds of the bulls that fought, but in general they speak of herds in the area and would include those of Cuadros, Ramos, Rodríguez and Navarrete. Nine bullfights were announced on both Saturday and Sunday, August 6 and 7, three for each bullfighter announced. The list for the two afternoons was the same, with Spaniards Rafaelillo and Román and Peruvian Joaquín Galdós, who rivals the great figure of the American country, Roca Rey, in his country.

Although nine bulls were announced per bullfight, three for each sword, the first one could only fight eight at nightfall and the arena had no artificial lighting. That’s why ten bulls were fought on Sunday. The two big winners of the weekend in Caracora were Rafaelillo, who showed his great moment of maturity, and Galdós. Both bullfighters came on the shoulders of the two celebrations.

The first afternoon Rafaelillo and Galdós flew through the front door and cut off two ears each, while Román couldn’t touch a hair. The Murcian could have cut off his first bull’s ears, but he missed with his sword. Yes, he cut them to the third of his batch and ended his performance with an ovation and two ears. Galdós cut off both ears from the second of his party and received a round of applause in his first.

The second afternoon had even more artistic content and the diestros closed the fair in triumph. Rafaelillo cut a total of four ears in one performance, according to the Peruvian chronicles, of wisdom and education, and managed to understand his opponents perfectly. The trophies presented to him were distributed by chopping off an ear from his first, another from his second and the two from the last bull he fought, with the public completely surrendering to the Murcian. The Valencian Román, the second to perform, greeted applause in the three bulls of his party, and together with Rafaelillo Joaquín Galdós came on the shoulders, who fought to four bulls that second afternoon, unable to fight the third of his first day. The Peruvian, who proved to be an idol among his compatriots, could run for more trophies, but his performance resulted in two ears, resulting in an ovation with regards, ear, ovation with greetings and ear for each bull.

As for his return to Spain, those around him reported that he would make the transfer by car to Lima this Monday, from where he will fly to Madrid, pending his arrival this Wednesday or Thursday. On Saturday he will have to put on his light suit again to fight in Valverde del Camino (Huelva).
