easyJet canceled subsequent flights on Wednesday due to the illness of Covid-19 staff.
With around 50 ‘pre-canceled’ flights in the UK, Belfast International Airport was hit again on Wednesday.
On the morning of Wednesday 6 April, two return flights from the airport to Paris and Manchester were cancelled.
A spokesperson for Belfast International Airport said: “These passengers will be notified directly by the airline and will be placed on alternative flights or a refund will be offered.”
An easyJet spokesperson added that the “vast majority” of flights will continue until Wednesday, with cancellations affecting Belfast International “early today due to the typically high level of illness for Covid employees”.
EasyJet will handle the vast majority of 1,545 flights today, with a small portion canceling early to allow customers to rebook alternative flights.
“We regret the inconvenience caused to affected customers.
EasyJet added that all affected customers will be contacted directly as in the case of cancellation.
Their options include booking an alternative flight, receiving a voucher or a full refund.
Airports continue to struggle with staff, causing long queues.
Dublin Airport said on Monday: “If you are flying in early from Dublin Airport please keep in mind that it can get very busy during peak hours, so give yourself plenty of time.
“During rush hour, this could mean three and a half hours before leaving. If you park, wait another 30 minutes.”
