Strange weather patterns mean motorists are removing desert dust from their cars

Drivers across Ireland are noticing a thin layer of dust on their cars

Many of you will notice something very strange in your car the past few mornings.

Despite the relatively good weather, cars, vans, and buses were scattered all over the island.

Mainly on the roof, windows and windshields, fortunately a simple explanation.

A combination of southeast winds and a rare ‘desert’ climatic event caused dust particles from the desert to move north through Europe.

Red skies and sandstorms have been reported in Spain, France, Germany and even Ireland, where some experts believe clouds can reach Denmark.

Expert Alan O’Reilly explained: “Several nighttime rains caused a lot of desert dust to fall from the atmosphere, which was carried away by southeast winds. The car wash will be busy this week.”

Satellite images show large amounts of dust spreading across Europe as people share orange images of the sky.

Until the dust leaves the island in the next few days, the temperature will remain constant.

Sunny weather will remain at least through the weekend after the dominant Atlantic system put high pressure on hold.

In fact, in some places the temperature will reach teenage levels, and the Irish will be able to organize a barbecue to celebrate Mother’s Day on Sunday, if we are to believe the current clues!
