George Best Belfast City Airport has been announced as one of Flybe Ltd’s first two operating bases in the UK.
The airline’s services will go on sale next week with a full list of routes to destinations in Birmingham and Belfast.
After announcing the new headquarters in Birmingham and first crew base in November, Flybe has also added Belfast Airport to its network as a second major base of operations.
Flybe CEO Dave Pfliger said: “Next week will be an exciting time for consumers and the public as they await our news of lower prices, new routes and new destinations, coinciding with a timely economic recovery and a return to normal after two difficult years.
“As you’ve heard, for over a year and a half, our team has worked hard to provide customers with a new airline that people will enjoy, and we’re particularly excited about flying to Belfast Airport and serving Northern Ireland.
“As we launch flights from Birmingham, Belfast and many other cities in the UK and EU, we are confident that the new and improved Flybe will provide customers with great value, more options and the opportunity to visit loved ones quickly and comfortably. Go on vacation and visit customers more easily or attend meetings. Mission.
To that end, Flybe hopes to do its part to help communities across the country recover from the dramatic impact of the global pandemic.
