Sometimes you don’t fall in love with a you, but with your lost self. Why this can’t work in the long run.
I had almost forgotten what it used to be like. If you weren’t married but had been together for a long time, you wouldn’t confidently say, “This is my partner” or “my girlfriend.” You walked around for a bit and then muttered a hard to understand ‘my better half’. This should create sufficient safety distance from the binding marital status and still be an indication of a committed relationship. That’s not what we’re talking about today, dear friends. I mean your own significant other. Do you really know them? If you’re not sure, I’ll tell Emilia and Martin’s story.
