A man in his 30s was shot twice in his sleep after three masked men entered the Koh Dere estate.
Police say he was shot in the leg in an accident on Tuesday, 5 April, just after midnight.
The man was taken to the hospital.
Detective Sergeant Galbraith at PSNI said: “It was reported after midnight that three masked men had entered the property.
“Two of them got into the bedroom, where a 30-year-old man was sleeping, and shot him twice, once in the leg.” He was taken to hospital to treat his injuries. “Fortunately, the woman, who was also on the property at the time, did not suffer physical injuries, but was traumatized by the accident.” We urge all who may have been present this morning and witnessed the accident, or who may have CCTV or video footage, to Contact investigators at 101, citing 04/05/22 6am.” The report can also be prepared online using the non-urgent report form www.psni.police.uk/makeareport/.
