Attendance factor – According to the research, Van der Bellen achieves 66 percent

Date:

According to a recent survey, Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen can count on 66 percent of the vote in the Hofburg elections. FPÖ candidate Walter Rosenkranz would finish in second place with 13 percent and a wide margin. This is evident from the research of Unique Research under the scientific leadership of Peter Hajek.

The survey for the news magazine “profil” and the television channel ATV was conducted by telephone and online between 10 and 18 August. “The challenge in polls for the upcoming presidential election is turnout,” pollster Hajek explains, so the sample needs to be quite large.

58 percent want to “definitely” go to the polls
First, 1,615 Austrians aged 16 and over were asked what the chances are from the current perspective that they will vote on 9 October. 58 percent stated that they would “definitely” go to the polls (range of variation 2.4 percent).

The Sunday Question – “Assuming the next federal presidential election was next Sunday, who would you vote for?” – was then only asked to those 58 percent (943 respondents) who definitely want to go to the polls (swing range 3.2 percent) ).

Van der Bellen would save himself a second round
“The available data show a clear trend: incumbent Alexander Van der Bellen has to make very serious mistakes in the election campaign to lose this election,” Hajek said. Van der Bellen scored 66 percent in the survey and would thus save himself a second round.

“Second place seems to be reserved for FPÖ candidate Walter Rosenkranz, although he could be well below FPÖ potential,” Hajek analyzed. 13 percent is reported for rosary beads.

Five percent for beer party boss Pogo
The former FPÖ/BZÖ politician Gerald Grosz and the lawyer and former ‘Krone’ columnist Tassilo Wallentin are fishing in the blue electoral pond, each with six percent. Beer party boss Dominik Wlazny (stage name “Marco Pogo”) comes in at five percent in the survey, MFG boss Michael Brunner at three percent.
