Congress has convened the first session of the newspaper responsible for the law for next Wednesday. A negotiating group, in which PSOE, Unidas Podemos, ERC, EH Bildu, PNV and JxCAT participate, has been trying for 12 months to make progress on the issues that generate the most disagreement.
The new Citizen Security Law, better known as gag lawwill begin the presentation process in Congress next week after years of paralysis since the PNV proposed its reform in 2017 and after the negotiating group has attempted to move forward with more than 30 working meetings over the past year.
The standard has caused friction between the partners of the Spanish government (PSOE and Unidas Podemos), who reached an agreement a year ago to withdraw the standard. Over the past 12 months, these two groups along with ERC, EH Bildu, PNV and JxCAT have been trying to make progress on this issue.
