The “Krone” interview with Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen caused a lot of commotion on social networks. Wondering why Beer Party founder Dominik Wlazny (aka Marco Pogo) was running for president, he immediately invited him over for a beer. And Pogo promptly responded, “I’m looking forward to it,” he responded via Twitter.
“I appreciate him as a musician, he has ideas and is funny. I just didn’t understand why he wants to be president,” explains Van der Bellen in an interview. “He studied medicine. I would like to ask him when he decided not to practice this profession, but the other”, the incumbent Federal President wondered at the reasons why the doctor Wlazny dared to tread the slippery floor of politics.
Marco Pogo responded quickly
“I’d be happy to answer your question”, Wlazny quickly picked up on the steep run-up: in addition to his second job as a musician, the working hours and night shifts in the hospital were “incompatible”. He then chose the music “because I love doing it and it gives me immense pleasure,” he explained on Twitter.
Wants to talk about “really relevant issues”.
Life is made up of change, and his professional life is also “constantly changing”. He now wants to participate as a “political person”, “further develop Austria, contribute ideas”: “I could do that as Federal President.” But it is also possible that one day he will work as a doctor again – “Yes, I have worked out the training for it”.
Then counter: “But let’s talk about the really relevant topics that concern the people in our country.” He is happy to accept Van der Bellen’s offer to talk.
