“We must keep moving forward”, on the path of “materializing the process of return home established at the prison level”, the Citizen Network in San Sebastián said, at the end of a demonstration also mentioned by Donostiako Piratak and the Donostialdea Festival Committee.

The Sare Citizen Network has this Saturday in San Sebastián “the attitude” of the persecution of the National audiencewhich, in his opinion, “acts as” legal arm of the extreme right policy”. At the end of a manifestation who, under the motto ‘Etxera bidea gertu’ and also convened by Donostiako Piratak and the Donostialdea Festival Committee, has walked the streets of the capital of Gipuzkoan, Sare has stated that “we must move forward” on the path of “materializing of the process of return home established at the prison level”.
In this regard, Sare read a text at the end of the march in which he denounced that the state prosecutor’s office “constantly” appeals against the decisions of the prison treatment committees, “when they approve the third-degree prison, or licensing”.
“They are committed to ongoing confrontation,” Sare said, stating the prosecutor’s goal “to prevent us from moving towards a just peace, and thereby coexistence.”
For Sare “the exception should no longer be the norm”, in the process of return home established at the penitentiary level: “The progress of the rank, exit permits, the return home of prisoners with serious illnesses, paternity and maternity rights and family rights… We need to continue on that path,” he said.
Great mobilization, on October 8
The Citizen Network has recalled that a general mobilization will take place on October 8, also in San Sebastián, with which it wants to crown the challenge of its “Izan Bidea” initiative: “That day”, it said, San Sebastián “must stay small for us. Let’s smile, but continue to work without stepping back.”
The march, after which Sare recalled that there are “58 prisoners far from Euskal Herria, started at 12.30 pm from the Boulevard, to end at the port. The mobilization took place in a festive atmosphere, with giants and music, and under the protesters included members of EH Bildu, such as former mayor of San Sebastián Juan Karlos Izagirre or his spokesman in the Consistory of the capital of Gipuzkoan, Reyes Carrere.
