Hofburg election – Tassilo Wallentin with 18,000 signatures

Date:

Despite the late decision to run in the Hofburg elections, attorney Tassilo Wallentin has received approximately 18,000 statements of support for his candidacy in the presidential election — three times as many as needed. He announced that on Monday.

“I want to thank everyone who has taken on the high bureaucratic effort,” said Wallentin, who also became known as a “Krone” columnist. He plans to announce his campaign strategy next week.

A week ago, Wallentin said at a news conference that “we need a federal president who is not from the political establishment so that the country does not crash into a wall.” His goal in the election? “I’m in to win,” the blogger and lawyer said at the time.

Wallentin sees poll at six percent
According to a poll, Wallentin can count on six percent of the vote in the Hofburg elections. This is apparent from the research conducted by Unique Research, scientifically led by Peter Hajek, for the news magazine ‘profil’ and the television channel ATV, the results of which were published a week ago.

The incumbent Alexander Van der Bellen is far ahead with 66 percent. FPÖ candidate Walter Rosenkranz came second in the survey.
