Presidential candidate Dominik Wlazny presented his political ideas on Thursday. The Hofburg candidate, better known by his stage name Marco Pogo, presented an agenda unlike that of the incumbent head of state. If I’m the first, I’ll be your president.”
During the half-hour appearance under the motto “May President”, the doctor tried to keep the image of the nice candidate small. Although he appeared in torn jeans, which is unusual for a Hofburg applicant, and sometimes left the standard language, the content of the press conference resembled the appearance of a classical politician.
Application procedure for ministers
A wide range of topics were covered. Wlazny took a stand against favoritism and corruption: “Politics can and should be decent. This is the only way to regain public trust in politics.” He had expected clearer words from the seated Alexander Van der Bellen. Wlazny sees an application procedure for ministers as a step in the right direction. This would spare you one oath or the other.
Despite all the crises, the candidate argued for compliance with the climate goals. The promotion of renewables should be promoted, blaming the West for the lack of wind turbines. However, trips to the nine state capitals are also on the agenda: “I have a climate ticket.” Wlazny is not looking for major donors, the campaign is financed by sponsors of his beer party. For larger campaigns, he lacked both the financial means and the will. That is why he wants to limit the triangular stands to nine pieces.
