The general coordinator of EH Bildu has thus responded to the Lehendakari and has assured that there are measures to tackle the current economic recession and energy crisis, but that “it is a matter of will”.

The general coordinator of EH PictureArnado Otegi, has assured that the current economic situation resulting from the war in Ukraine is “a result of certain elites taking measures in their own interest”, adding that there are measures to deal with the current crisis, but that “it’s a matter of Will”.
The leader of EH Bildu has defended the need “to explain to the people that we are going to have a rough autumn because some, the economic and political elites, have decided to prolong the war for their own sake” and has rejected it. this situation is “irreversible” because he believes that “other types of measures can and should be taken”.
During his speech at the meeting of the EH Bildu Political Table to analyze the political situation at the beginning of the new political year, Otegi warned that this is going to be a “hard fall”.

Otegi has assured that “the world will not change unless structural measures are taken” and insisted on the need to take these measures “urgently” along with palliative measures.
Among the “alternative” measures proposed by EH Bildu, he cited the need to “address clear tax reforms” and the intervention of strategic sectors such as energy and the real estate market. “Politics is there to solve people’s problems, not to indulge in election polls,” he said.
For Otegi, political leaders’ warnings that “a hard autumn is coming” or that a “storm” is coming, as the Lehendakari stated last Tuesday, Inigo Urkullu, They try to “hide that there is a risk of a recession, that inflation will skyrocket, that commodities will rise and that there will be a shortage of certain things.”
In that sense, he has defended that this situation “can be stopped if the decisions and measures to be taken are taken” and that it is a matter of will. “We need to stop arms shipments, demilitarize and de-escalate the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, sit down at a negotiating table and find a political solution,” he said. “That’s the best emergency plan that some have little interest in,” he criticized.
