The PNV spokeswoman in the Senate, Estefania Beltran de Herediahas today opted for “dialogue, negotiation and agreement” to resolve the Catalan conflict and has defended that both Catalonia and the Basque Country can “decide their future freely and democratically”.
In statements to the media after the laurel wreath of the party in the monument to Rafael Casanova, in the context of the celebration of the National Day of Catalonia, the Basque senator presented the “respect and solidarity” of the party and the “demand that Catalonia and Euskadi can decide their future freely and democratically”.
“Basque Country and Catalonia we agree on interests and requirements: national recognition, the guarantee of the full development of our self-government and the ability to decide freely and democratically, always according to the principle of dialogue and agreement,” he declared.
In this sense, he has made it clear that the PNV “will continue to defend that the problem of Catalonia” solve through dialoguenegotiation, agreement and respect for the will of the majority of citizens”.
