Even if you don’t like reading, fall is coming. However, a former hurricane will bring late summer in the west and southeast again next week. Late autumn takes over for the time being towards the weekend and brings snow even at higher altitudes.
In order: The week starts very sunny, on Monday up to 25 degrees are reached in Tyrol and Upper Carinthia. A similar picture can also be seen on Tuesday, when late summer puts the turbo back on and brings temperatures to 29 degrees. The maximum values are reached in the west of the country.
From the middle of the week – as already mentioned – a hurricane will mix with the weather. “Danielle” has meanwhile been toned down considerably. Leading up to the former hurricane, warm air masses would reach the Alps, according to the forecast by Manfred Spatzierer, chief meteorologist at the storm center. “The temperatures are rising.”
30 degrees within reach, chance of gusts of wind
However, not throughout the country: because Wednesday is divided into two parts. Clouds and rain dominate from Upper Austria to the north of Burgenland, after sunny parts it becomes uncomfortable again in the evening. Showers and thunderstorms are moving through, locally there is even a chance of strong wind gusts. The south of Austria is favored with the weather on this day. From Lower Carinthia to Southern Burgenland it remains dry and in some places it even gets hotter to 29 degrees, even the 30 degrees can be cracked.
Shared suffering then predominates on Thursday. It is becoming unstable all over Austria. The sun rarely comes through and has to make way for showers and thunderstorms. Storms are threatening again, especially in the north and southeast. Between 20 and 27 degrees are reached again.
No more heat – even snow possible
From Friday it will be over with late summer temperatures. It remains cloudy and wet. The 20-degree limit is rarely reached, especially in the east. A little taste of what’s in store for us this weekend: late autumn is just around the corner. Even snowfall is possible: the snow line in the northern Alps will drop to about 1200 meters for the time being.
