Money for clubs? – Klagenfurt politicians debate about vaccination million

Date:

The federal government has donated a million euros for the vaccination campaign – now there is a debate about how best to distribute the money. Team Carinthia wants to hand out 500,000 euros in dozens of cities to clubs and companies. The SP demands 800,000 euros.

Sparks often fly in the city council and there is also no consensus about the vaccination campaign. The federal government has made 956,938 euros available for this, everyone agrees that this amount should be distributed and made available to sports clubs, culture and companies. “They have a high degree of acceptance among the population and have suffered a lot from the inflation wave,” says Vizebgm. Philipp Liesnig (SP). The aid is paid in city tens.

SPÖ demands more money for clubs
“Team Carinthia only wants to pay out 500,000 euros. The rest is pumped into advertisements, lawyers, tax consultants, logistics, leaflets, etc. We don’t do that. The largest possible piece of the pie must benefit the population. The SPÖ makes its own proposal. The agency fee should not exceed 15,000 euros, one must rely on the experience of the city of Villach. That saves time and money. The clubs must be approached directly by the city, then 800,000 euros remains,” says Liesnig.

Deadline at the beginning of October
Time is running out. City communication should carry out the vaccination campaign in early October. Liesnig: “In a written statement, the manager says that the previous variant is the most complex in Austria. We make it easier.”
