The General Secretary of the PSE-EE, Eneko Anduezahas confirmed that the socialists defend the Basque statute of autonomy and self-government “365 days a year, 24 hours a day”not like the PNV, which will shout “for independence” in the Alderdi Eguna this Sunday and “probably put in a drawer later on Monday and deal with other business”.
Andueza took part this Saturday in the tribute his party paid to the councilors and mayors of the Gipuzkoan towns of Zumarraga and Urretxu. He pointed out that in General policy plenary session of the Basque Parliament Last Thursday, PNV and EH Bildu “started to discuss who had resigned before or more on the sovereign path, in self-determination, new status and those roles in which they get entangled.”
“We let them fight because We socialists have a very clear step-by-step planwe know where to be and where we are, in what matters, when facing the real challenges, what matters to the bourgeoisie, not separatist or independent issues,” he underlined.
“We are with the people and with the citizensthat’s where they want and need us,” he stressed.
