Online and on TV – Tyrol elects new state parliament, “Krone” reports live

Date:

Today is “Day X”: After weeks of intense election campaigns with sometimes violent political disputes, 535,112 Tyroleans are called upon to elect a new state parliament. High voltage guaranteed. Because it is the first election after the Sebastian Kurz era, the first since the start of the war in Ukraine and the first since we really felt the price increases in Austria. The “Krone” reports on all its channels.

In all 277 Tyrolean municipalities, a total of 789 polling stations will be available for voting on election Sunday. In many small municipalities the polling stations are only open in the morning, in larger municipalities it is also possible to vote in the afternoon. The first polling station in Pfunds opens at 6.00 am, most follow from 8.00 am. Usually they close between 2 and 3 pm, the last at 5 pm. To cast your vote, you can only go to the polling station of the municipality where you are also on the electoral register – don’t forget your photo ID!

535,112 Tyroleans entitled to vote
All Austrian citizens are eligible to vote who have reached the age of 16 at the latest on the day of the election, who have not been excluded from the right to vote and who have or have had their primary residence in Tyrol, insofar as they are registered in the electoral register. In total, 535,112 Tyroleans have the right to vote. In 2018 there were 537,273. 71,945 citizens have already voted with voting cards.

“Krone” reports live from “Festung Landhaus”
The media coverage of local print and online media and TV stations is high: “About as big as four and a half years ago,” reports Florian Kurzthaler, head of the state’s public relations department. Although it is the first election after the Corona winter in Ischgl and the brief layoff, only one journalist from Germany is accredited.

The main hall in Landhaus 1 is full of TV channels. The “Krone” partner channel Puls24, such as krone.tv, broadcasts live from the election studios in Innsbruck and Vienna from 3 p.m. and provides all state and federal level reactions, analyses, projections and results. Info boss Corinna Milborn and editor-in-chief “Krone” Klaus Herrmann welcome first-class guests to analyze the election results. All top candidates will meet live at 6.15 pm. The live ticker on krone.at starts in the morning.

Extrapolation and first results from 5 p.m.
Just like in 2018, a tent with 50 workplaces for journalists will again be set up in the courtyard of Meran. Access to the mansion is strictly regulated on election day: not even a campaign convoy is allowed in. The flag-wavers must therefore remain in the party headquarters – official reason: safety and fire safety considerations or lack of space in the country house.

The last of the 789 polling stations close at 5 p.m., followed immediately by the first forecasts.
