Blue and red spots – jet black, but only no ÖVP min . in 16 places

Date:

The crash of the Tyrolean People’s Party in Sunday’s state elections (minus 9.55 percentage points) is also reflected in the municipal results. In 261 of the 277 municipalities, the ÖVP had to accept losses. The SPÖ, which only gained 0.23 percentage point, lost in 94 places and won in 183. The PVV (with a national plus of 3.31 points) realized growth in 242 of the municipalities.

Nationally, the Tyrolean People’s Party reached 34.7 percent – a total decline to below 30 percent could thus be prevented. Nevertheless, the VP had to accept losses in almost all communities. Blacks in Innsbruck were the weakest performers at just 20.59 percent (minus 5.29 percentage points). They made the biggest loss in Gerlosberg, where the minus amounted to 35.98 percentage points (result: 39.75 percent). In 38 municipalities the ÖVP achieved less than 30 percent. In 147 municipalities there was a loss of more than ten percentage points, in 22 the People’s Party lost more than 20 percentage points.

Smallest community: 23 out of 24 votes for ÖVP
The ÖVP was only able to rise in 16 municipalities. Despite the losses at 261 places, it is still the strongest party of as many, which also reflects the national number one. The ÖVP achieved the “absolute” (more than 50 percent) in 71 municipalities. The strongest ÖVP community was Gramais at 95.65 percent (with only 33 voters), an increase of 18.38 percentage points. The party also achieved the largest increase in the number of votes there. Of the 33 eligible voters, 24 went to the polls. 23 valid votes were cast, of which 22 were for the ÖVP (95.7 percent). The list Fritz was happy with one vote.

SPÖ “Absolutely” in two communities
The SPÖ achieved more than 50 percent in only two municipalities – namely in Sellrain (58.51 percent in the home municipality of party leader Georg Dornauer) and Gries im Sellrain (50.89 percent). The SPÖ St. Sigmund im Sellrain provided the largest increase in votes with 24.92 percentage points (result: 40.52 percent). The SPÖ was the strongest party in only nine municipalities. The SPÖ underperformed the ÖVP stronghold of Gramais – there it got nothing (-4.55 percentage points). The biggest loss was in Dölsach, where the minus amounted to 12.92 percentage points (result: 16.48 percent). Social democracy achieved less than 30 percent in 272 of the municipalities. In 58 places, the Social Democrats even got less than ten percent.

FPÖ strongest force in seven places
The FPÖ’s revival is not only reflected in the fact that it recorded an increase in votes in 242 municipalities – it was also the strongest party in seven. In at least eight municipalities, the FPÖ managed to win more than 30 percent of the vote. In 111 communities it was more than 20 percent. The FPÖ place with the most votes was Virgen with 36.52 percent (+4.21). The Blues achieved the largest increase in votes in Gerlosberg with 22.29 percentage points (result: 34.43 percent). There were FPÖ losses in only 35 municipalities – the largest in the municipality of Holzgau at minus 7.77 percentage points. There were no votes for the PVV, as for the SPÖ, in Gramais.

No green votes in five municipalities
Like the ÖVP, the Greens (who had a minus of 1.47 nationally) recorded significantly more loss communities than those with a plus: in 215 of the 277 communities there was a minus, in 59 the eco party won. The municipality with the most votes was Sistrans with 18.27 percent (-3.31). The Greens achieved the largest increase in votes in Tristach at 5.06 percentage points, where they came in at 10.53 percent. The Greens left completely empty in five municipalities – in Namlos, Hinterhornbach, St. Johann im Walde, Gramais and Spiss. In 241 communities, the eco-party reached less than ten percent, and stayed below five percent in 109 communities.

Good luck for the little party List Fritz
The Fritz list was able to grow almost everywhere, with a national increase of 4.4 percentage points: the party won in 260 of the municipalities. There was more than 15 percent for the Fritz list in seven communities. The municipality with the most votes was Kartitsch with 19.63 percent (+9.73). Gracenwald brought the largest increase in votes with 12.7 percentage points, the list came out at 17.58 percent. The Fritz list lost votes in just 17 communities. And everywhere it scored well, not a single municipality had zero votes. The list in Gerlosberg was the weakest at just 0.82 percent (minus 1.12 points). The biggest loss was in Unterperfuss, where the minus amounted to 5.26 percentage points (result: 4.63 percent).

The national increase in NEOS (+1.08) was also reflected in the high number of municipalities with profits (208). Of course, the NEOS are at a lower level than the Fritz list: in only six of the municipalities, the NEOS reached more than ten percent. The pink municipality with the most votes was Telfs with 14.69 percent – there the liberals also recorded the largest increase with +9.21 percentage points. The NEOS lost votes in 66 municipalities. They went empty in three ÖVP strongholds: Namlos, Hinterhornbach and Gramais. They made the biggest loss in Mils near Imst (-11.08). There were less than five percent in 118 communities.

The MFG participated for the first time. It reached more than five percent in just seventeen communities, in one it reached more than ten: in Mariastein, the vaccine skeptics reached 11.68 percent.
