Larrion was sentenced to three years in prison by a court in the capital of Alava for false documents, marital status and theft after stealing a colleague’s wallet and documentation in 2021. The also ex-MP from EH Bildu has explained in “Faktoria” how she has experienced the recovery process, and has welcomed that society has responded with “generosity” in her case.
Of course, he has warned that he has also seen the “opposite” situation: “some would prefer people like me to live in a state of permanent punishment, that they always pay for it, or that I disappear, in the sense of ‘hiding ‘”.
Faced with this situation, Larrion has stressed that “permanent punishment is not legitimate”: “I’m not going to hide, and I won’t be without raising my head.”
On the other hand, the ex-spokeswoman of the nationalist coalition, despite her now going to do community work, has assured her that she will continue to experience politics from a distance: “In the broadest sense, I have politics in my veins; I have other things! I’m leaving!”
Miren Larrion was one of the most prominent and promising leaders in EH Bildu when she stepped down last February. At the time, she was spokesman for the city council of Vitoria-Gasteiz, but she was also a parliamentarian and her name was beginning to sound like a future replacement for Arnaldo Otegi.
