Supreme Court begins examining appeals against ‘Miguel case’ verdict today

The Álava court has sentenced the former leaders of the Álava PNV, Alfredo de Miguel, Koldo Ochandiano and Aitor Telleria, to sentences ranging from 13 to 6 years in prison for charging illegal commissions.

Today, the appeals filed by the main convicts in the ‘Miguel case’ begin in the Supreme Court. Among the main convicts are the former leaders of the PNV of Álava, Alfredo de Miguel, Koldo Ochandiano and Aitor Telleriawith penalties ranging from 13 to 6 years in prison, for charging illegal commissions.

The Provincial Court of Álava convicted 15 people for various crimes committed between 2005 and 2009, in particular, for charging illegal commissions in exchange for government contracts.

Alfred de Miguel He was sentenced to 13 years and 3 months in prison for various crimes related to corruption, including influence and passive bribery, false trade documents, misappropriation of public funds, improper bribery, money laundering and illegal association.

To the former members of the Alava Executive of the PNV Koldo Ochandiano and Aitor Telleria He sentenced them to 7 and a half years and 6 and a half years in prison respectively.
